This can apply to all genres. The colour scheme in a typical MV is also important in conveying the mood of the song. Vibrant colours go for a fun, informal/joyful look whereas monotone, dark colours reveal sadness or ambiguity

What have we decided to do with ours?
Not all R&B music videos support these stereotypical points, some subvert these points raised which challenges the audience...

We've decided to develop the codes and conventions of our Music Video.
Narrative- Based mainly on relatonships but weaves in elements of supernatural/psychology which develops. This is seen throughout the forest scene when the boyfriend is seen as a ghost to the audience but artist thinks he's there.
This will also suit our Target Audience of adolesence (16+) because they're old enough to understand these emotions which will allow them to appreciate the way the artist has interpreted her experience.
Shots/Camera Movement - We've incorporated a range of shots including close ups, medium shots and have played around with the composition as this expressed the artist's position within their relationship and how she sees herself as a person- insecure/unimportant when she's with them.
For our look, the artist is shown fully clothed. She has her own distinctive style that doesn't have to involve exposing too much skin, she's into ripped jeans and sneakers- more of an urban style.
