Preliminary Task
Similarly to last year, we also have to film a preliminary task to begin understanding the process in producing music videos. We've spent a few lessons filming and editing our version of the Saturdays' 'What about us' - We've got hold of the track and added our own twist/style to the video. We've still used several shots similar to the original video and we've all represented each member of the actual group.

I would say this definitely helped us in terms of preparation for producing our own music video because I've learnt the foundations such as the lip syncing - being able to match it precisely with the actual track when editing, which I feel will be a bit of a challenge.
Also knowing when to begin filming and when to cut was something I've learnt. It's more convenient to begin filming before the song actually starts or during the instrumental parts at the beginning before the artist begins to lip sync just so that the composition (and steadiness of the camera) can be adjusted. Throughout filming, vast amount of cuts are needed. So filming verse 1 as a medium-shot lip sync to filming a regular medium-shot without lip syncs was something we had to do here, we would need to prepare getting used to doing this as we need to add at least 100 cuts in our actual MV.
What did I learn from this?
